Sharon came into the studio for a luxury session which includes hair and makeup; the last time she had portraits taken was at the turn of the century...2000. This session was to make portraits to include in gifts for her two grown children as a remembrance after she is gone. At first blush, you may think this is a morbid thing to do, but Sharon is forward-thinking, has found her purpose for being on this earth, and loves her children immensely. She is in her fifties and is doing things right!
Sharon's children, their children, and their children's children will treasure the photos they receive. They've been printed and matted, and will last for generations. I can't think of a better gift to give to the ones you love.....especially if you will never get to meet them!

...and do you know what she said at her gallery reveal that spoke volumes, made my heart melt and is a big part of why I am a contemporary portrait photographer?
"Wow. I'm not used to seeing myself smiling like this!"
This is what fuels my passion as a portrait photographer.
